Studying Guide
Having an exam or a hard test to study for? Here are some tips on how to make sure you study good!
Environment
First of all, are you in the right place to be studying?
The most important thing to do when studying is to be somewhere quiet, so it's easier to focus on what you need to study for. The perfect place to have peace and quiet is none other than the library.
But you could always stay at home, but in a quiet room.
Before studying, make sure there aren't any distractions. Like, is there a TV opened from where you are studying? Is there music playing? Are there people constantly talking? You should most probably go to another room in your house.
How to study
Well, there are many different ways on how to study. We aren't experts and saying there is ONE way of studying, there are a lot of methods.
1. Make jot notes. (While you write down your notes, you are kind of skimming through what you need to study for, which gives you a bit of a clue of what there is in your content.) Remember to make notes that you think are important.
2. Read, read, read! (Read over your content lots of times. The text will get into your head of you read words a lot, lol)
Reading aloud sometimes helps, but reading in your head can be okay too.
3. Memorize. (Sometimes it helps to get a good mark on an exam or test is to memorize the important content that you know or not already know.)
4. Practise. (Why not make a practise test? Plan some questions out, and answer them yourself.)
5. Ask for Help. (There isn't a problem asking friends and family for help.. is there? They can ask you questions and quiz you.)
There are tons of other ways, but those are some general points of studying.
When to study?
Never, never leave studying at the last minute! You don't need to memorize/study all your notes at once.. you should at least get some things in mind a few days before hand each day. Be prepared, and study a few things at a time, or you'll start to get headaches of you study all at one time.
If you leave it at the last minute, you might be in trouble, since you don't have a lot of time.
Conclusions
Basically, you should study, but have an understanding of what you are studying for. Why study for something you don't really get? Search it up in the books, or on the computer. But before that you should most probably ask a teacher for help and explain things. Never be embarassed of asking a question you don't know.
