Adding Downloads
Want to give away something to download? This tutorial will tell you how to put up the link!
Step One
Firstly, you need to know what you are giving out to visitors, for example, brushes, fonts, smilies.
Suppose you want to make fonts downloadable on your site... go to the folder with your font. Right click the file >> Send to >> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
Don't close the window...
A zipped folder with an extention of .zip at the end of the name should appear by then, in the same folder.
Step Two
Log onto your site account, and upload the file. For FTP users, you need to transfer the file from the folder to your server.
After the upload, you need to make a link for the visitors to click on to download your file:
<![CDATA[<a href="http://YOURSITE/FILENAME.zip">LINK HERE</A>]]>
Fill in the capital words with your information.
For example, we'd replace YOUR SITE with www.twinzworld.dolliehost.com (Don't delete the HTTP://!!), and replace FILENAME with the name of your font, brush, whatever. Make sure you don't forget the .zip part! That's the extention, and the link won't work if you don't include that.
Lastly, replace LINK HERE with what you want the download link to be called, like "click to download."
