Cloudy Sun Tutorial

Want to know how to make a nice, cloudy-sun effect? Follow this simple tutorial that can come in handy for designing graphics!

Step 1

Open up a document, choose any size.. we will be using 400x400 to show our example.
Use the Paint Bucket Tool, and select a blue color. For our tutorial, we'll be using #AED2D7.

Step Two

You have just selected your foreground color. Now, select white (#FFFFFF) as your background color. Your color palette should look like simular to this:

Step Three

Now go to Filter >> Render >> Clouds.
You have just created nice clouds! :P

You can repeat the Filter settings again if you wish, to get the clouds in different positions.

Step Four

Next, go to Filter >> Render >> Lens Flare .. . A pop-up should appear.
You can adjust the brightness of the light to your liking. You may also change the Lens Type.

You have just created your sun! :P

Result

Of course, you may always stop there, or you can add more cool effects to your design! This is what we came up with, using various brushes:
