"Fade Away" Tutorial

Want to have some wind or fading effects on your images? Follow this easy step by step tutorial to get that look! =)

Step 1

Choose an image that you want for this tutorial. Our example is below:

Press CTRL+J to Duplicate the layer, or go to Layer>>Duplicate Layer, either way its the same. It should look like something below:

Step 3

Still on the duplicated layer, go to Filter>>Blur>>Motion Blur. A pop up should appear, apply the settings like below or you may change them to your liking. Press OK when you are done:

Step 4

Click on the Eraser Tool and choose a soft round brush, any size that you think works with your picture. Then start erasing the main object/theme/person in the image (we used the 100px brush). The result should look similar to below:

Step 5

Design and decorate with the image using brushes, etc! Go wild =) Finished result:
