Folding a Paper 3-D Star

Want to learn how to fold a 3-D star with just a trip of paper? Follow this tutorial and learn how!

Step One: Finding a strip of Paper

Find a long, strip of paper like shown above. Make sure the width is not too wide.
The length should not be too long because that makes the star too thick. It also shouldn't be too short.
A good length would be the side of a normal lined paper.

Step Two: Forming the Loop

Get one end of the strip and fold it back to the left like above. It sort of forms a loop, and there is a little piece sticking out.

Step Three: Into the Loop

Tuck the piece of paper that is sticking out into the loop and pull it into a pentagon shape Press to make it flat, like the image above.
The result should then look like a pentagon, with another little piece sticking out from the top right.

Step Four: Pentagon

Fold back the little piece that is sticking out and it should appear like below:

Step Five

Now you have a pentagon shape at the top, and a long strip of paper. Now, take the strip and fold it up towards the top right side of the pentagon, and press to make it flat. Continue taking the strip towards a side of a pentagon (it should naturally lead to the side). Please refer to the images below:

Step Six

If you have completed folding the strip, it should appear like this at the end:

Leave a little strip left (like shown above). Notice that there is a little pocket (indicated with a green line). Tuck the little piece sticking out into the "pocket" like below:

The end result should look like an actual pentagon:

Step Seven

Place your fingers on the sides of the pentagon like below:

Start squeezing/pressing the sides hard (and you will notice it starts to form a star) shown below:

Once it is all squeezed and pressed it should look like below:

And there you have it! Your very own star, made of just a strip of paper! You can always use pretty designs on the papers! Here are some pictures that we took of our stars. Please do not steal these pictures; they are actual objects in our house -_- Click for a bigger image.
